Trains, Grains and Watermobiles

Day 6  Beautiful sunrise in Clinton, IA.   We arrived at Clinton Marina yesterday at 4:15.  We had such a relaxing day, only 2 locks that we breezed thru, 4 tows (barges) that we passed or were passed during wide parts of the river and no weekend boat traffic.  Even managed 63 miles!

Here is Mark writing in his journal.  He’s been creating material for a book ever since we decided to     take this journey.

Had time to have pre dinner cocktails, leisurely showers and cook up a great meal.  Then plenty of post dinner time to relax on our balcony before bedtime.

Now to the title of this post.  Never thought too much about the towns on the Mississippi River and what they almost all have.  Yes, you guessed it, trains, grains (in the form of buildings or silos, and plenty of watermobiles (aka boats).  But, most of all, beautiful towns.  If you ever get a chance, a road trip all the way down would be a great one!

Enough said...
